Annual US Armed Forces in Pest Control
The Pest Posse annual US Armed Forces in Pest Control series is an important occasion recognizing veterans in the pest control industry and their sacrifice to protect our country. The series, released annually in May, recognizes four veterans who work in the pest control industry as service technicians, business owners, manufacturing representatives, and managers. The people selected for this recognition have a true passion and dedication to the pest control industry and giving back to veterans.
The Pest Posse chose May for this series because, in 1999, the month was officially designated Military Appreciation Month. Each year, the president issues an annual proclamation reminding Americans to celebrate this patriotic month that pays tribute to those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. National Military Appreciation Month includes several important dates: Loyalty Day (May 1), Military Spouse Appreciation Day (May 7), VE Day (May 8), Armed Forces Day (May 15), and, of course, Memorial Day (May 31).
The Pest Posse 2023 US Armed Forces in Pest Control is sponsored by Cedar, a company dedicated to supporting veterans. This year, the following veterans will be recognized for their dedication and service.
US Navy veteran Peter Obenauer, working at Vector Disease Control International.
US Air Force veteran Dave Sloop, working at Franklin Pest Solutions for 42 years.
US Marine veteran Joey Toth, the owner of Pitbull Pest Control.
US Army veteran Jeff Keller, working at Burns Pest Elimination.
